Mommy did the Austin Triathlon on Labor Day. We went downtown to watch her. She did it with Wesley's mom, Mrs. Given who placed 3rd in their age division!! Mommy's times were as follows:

5k run/walk: 46 minutes

It was Tyler's birthday on July 28th and Adam's is coming up on A ugust 22nd. We combined the two dates and had one party for the boys. They were both in hog heaven since we were celebrating them. Here they are, patiently waiting for cake. All the cousins:

Our sweet little Adam is almost 6 years old! He is our rooty toot tooty for sure. The cake was chocolate with chocolate filling and chocolate frosting. It was delicious but Adam said, "It is a little bit too chocolatey." Wonders never cease.....

We all took a trip to Sea World with Tasha and her sister, Vanessa, Gramma Esther, Tyler and Cash. It was a hot day and we even got to try out the water park. Gramma is wearing the yellow shirt here with her hands in the air. She's so brave going "no hands" on the Shamu Express!

It was Tyler's birthday and everyone on the roller coaster and waiting in line sang happy birthday to him.

On our last day of vacation, we snapped a couple of pictures on the boardwalk and then took off for Pensacola to go the Naval Museum of Aviation History. This museum is such a cool place.

Mrs. Prom (Rex to our mommy) came to visit us this summer. She used to live next door to us and then moved to Colorado. Her visit was short but It was so nice to see her again. Car accident

We had been having a wonderful day with Gramma Esther. We had gone to see Annie and then gone to Amy's for ice cream. Yummy! On our way home from Amy's, a girl driving the silver Accord ran a red light and plowed right into our car while we were turning left on a green arrow. We definitely had a Guardian Angel with us that afternoon because no one was hurt. We were all in the car - Alex, Adam, Gracie, Mommy and Gramma Esther. It could have been so much worse but thankfully it wasn't.

Gracie kept asking, "Mommy, how come you broke the car?" This was scary for her and the boys too but they were all brave little souls. Alex and Adam have come to understand why it is so IMPORTANT to be wearing your seat belt at all times. We have had many conversations about the fact that cars are replaceable but we are not. Thank you, God, for keeping us safe in the accident.

We celebrated a very special day for Alex on Saturday. He received his First Holy Communion. He has been preparing for it for the last 2 years. We had all of our family with us to celebrate the special event. Alex was very excited and very proud. Gracie was happy that she had another reason to wear her favorite pink dress.

Alex and Adam went to Scout Night at the Dell Diamond with Daddy. It had rained all day and we thought the game was going to be cancelled but it ended up being a beautiful night for some baseball.

We had some sad news at our house this week. Alex's beloved hamster, Oscar, died on Thursday morning. Alex was very sad about it but has handled the situation really well. He and Art found a special place in the back yard to bury him. Oscar was a great little guy and we will all miss him. Adam received 3 dog tags at a special ceremony at school. Each dog tag represents 100 books that he has read! Way to go Adam! Last year, Mommy bought 3 gingerbread houses so we could each have one. This year, she learned her lesson and bought only one. We had a wonderful time decorating it and eating the candy as we decorated. Gracie is a great candy thief! We were very proud of our concoction.

Here is Alex with his piano teacher. Alex is going to give up the piano for now. He has been taking lessons for over a year and has enjoyed it.

Alex had his first piano recital. He played "When the Saints Go Marching In" and "The Bubble." He played beautifully and we all enjoyed listening. Gramma Esther, Grampa Jeff, Grandma Kitty and Grandpa Art were all able to be at the recital. It was special.

Gracie had her first visit to the dentist. She was a good girl and even let the dentist clean her teeth with the electric toothbrush. She also met a new friend at the dentist, Larry the Lion. In the end, a trip to the dentist was well worth the two tokens Gracie received to "buy" a pink bouncie ball and a sparkle butterfly tattoo.

We took a trip to Sea World to see all of their Halloween decorations and festivities. We took a tour through Frightmare Forest during it's "family friendly' hours and it was pretty spooky. We celebrated Gramma and Grampa's 40th anniversary at McCormick & Schmick's today. It was a special day and we enjoyed being with our cousins. We always have such a great time when we all get together. Happy Anniversary, Gramma and Grampa! We love you very, very much.

Gracie's 1st day of preschool

Gracie had her 1st day of school on Tuesday. She was a little bit shy but didn't cry at all. When Mommy went to pick her up after school was over, she was sitting in the teacher's lap having a ball. Gracie has 2 very important accessories with her in this picture: her Hello Kitty backpack and lunchbox. She must not leave for school without them!

Mommy took a trip by herself to go and see her friend Rex who now lives in Colorado. They had a wonderful visit and did some fun sightseeing in Estes Park. In Rocky Mountain National Park:
